Feather Stitch

Step by Step

Make a slip knot and place it on the hook. The base chain should be an even number of chains. Example: 18 chains (adjust as needed for the size of the project). First row: Make a half double crochet (half double crochet) in the second chain from the hook.

Second row: Make a chain and turn the work.
Place a half double crochet in the first stitch (the stitch where the chain came from).
Make a chain, skip a stitch, and place a half double crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat this pattern (chain, skip a stitch, half double crochet in the next stitch) until the end of the row.
Third row (beginning of the Feather Stitch pattern repeat):Make a chain and turn the work.
Place a half double crochet in the first stitch.

To create the Feather Stitch, do the following:
Insert the hook into the chain space (from the previous row).
Insert the hook into the skipped stitch of the row two rows below.
Reinsert the hook into the next chain space.
Pull the yarn to create loops, forming a total of 7 loops on the hook.
Pull the yarn through all 7 loops and make a chain.
Repeat this process until the end of the row.

Following rows: For the next rows, repeat the pattern from the third row, but instead of working directly into the skipped stitch, you will work into the chain spaces of the previous row.
Always end each row with a half double crochet in the last stitch.
Finishing: When you have reached the desired length, you can finish the piece.
